Yes! Sonlight's K-6 Science programs are indeed literature-based. Each of these levels contains great books, compelling biographies as well as engaging activities. We choose interesting, colorful, captivating and winsome materials and avoid uninspiring textbooks wherever possible.

Science IG Tabs/Flags (4.7.09)
This year's Science IGs are laid out with necessary Activity Sheets and Answer Keys within the week. No longer a need for IG tabs. Unfortunately, we included an explanation of how to use these tabs in the intro of the already printed Science IGs. Also, some of the Science IGs we've already sold (4/1-7) DO include these tabs. Going forward from today ...
- We will NOT include the tabs in the 2009 Science IGs we ship
- We are able to change the content of some of the Science IGs so that there is no mention of these tabs.
- We will post a correction online for all Science IGs explaining the mix-up, and how these items are unnecessary with the new format.
- CR will have a supply of these tabs to send to customers who did not receive them, but call in to ask about them.
Science Box dimensions
- We currently offer SS100 for sale as a separate item (empty science box). The box is 10"W x 6 1/4"D x 3 3/4"H.
- We do not offer SS200 for sale as a separate item. This larger box is 13"W x 9 1/2"D x 4 1/4"H.

We have also discovered that although studying a particular subject for year sounds great in theory......reality was that our dc even now at 7yo & 9yo DON'T want to spend an entire year on just Botany or Space etc.
They love the variety SL science offers and they LOVE the experiments. It not lining up DOES NOT phase them. They just want to DO and DISCOVER. I'm the one who got hung up on lining up (which was what led me to Apologia in the first place a couple years back). Anyway, SL Science has offered us a 'buffet' and we pick and choose the bunny trail we wish to delve into deeper. Then we add in extra experiments, lapbooks etc. Tieing the bunny trail together.
At first I too thought ....SL and Apologia would be great. But when really thinking about it and taking the time to watch the kids and how they play and constantly ask questions......they don't ask the same question on the same topic for a year........they, like SL Science, are a 'buffet' with never ending questions that they choose to ask on any given day.
