Letter with Remedial Reading Package

I am convinced it will help you help your child read like never before. Please allow me to offer some suggestions about how to use this program.

First, please recognize that if your son or daughter is having difficulty with reading,

it is probably because s/he has missed one of the fundamental phonetic patterns in English. Reading Reflex demystifies the reading process and gives valuable pointers on how to teach your child to read. I encourage you to peruse the book—especially the first section where the author explains her philosophy.

After reading the few short stories included in Reading Reflex, pull out the I Can Read It series.

The first three volumes contain stories that progress from the short /a/ sound through the long vowels. Have your child read the stories using the techniques taught in Reading Reflex. Have your child read the stories multiple times until s/he can read them fluently. Then move to the next story.

When your child encounters a word s/he can not decode, use the I Can Read It Book 4. Book 4 contains information on the sound the reader is practicing, and includes word lists to show the pattern your child should be studying. Talk through the sound you are studying. Then go back to the story and practice reading that particular sound.

Schedule a time to read every day, even if it is only for a few minutes. Reading becomes easier with practice.

If we can be of any further service, please don't hesitate to write or call us at [email protected] or 303.730.6292.

            Happy Reading!
