Semester Markings in catalog (3.26.10)

Beginning with the 2009 catalog, we no longer include the + sign as an indicator that a book is used for more than one trimester. The main use for this icon was to enable library users ... those who purchase packages do not need that information.

2010 Catalog Release (3.3.10)

  • March 15th - anticipated date for email to Core customers containing a link to our digital catalog. No more catalog pdf this year ... we will have a bona fide E-catalog instead.
  • March 19th - anticipated date for catalog to ship from printer to customers. SCCs and SCA catalogs will be shipped in advance.

Anticipated Product Updates for 2010

We really have no significant changes planned for 2010. These details are not for public consumption at this time, but it is certainly ok to say that we don't expect any significant changes. (1.12.10)

  • CORE 2010
    • Core P4/5 - Added about 4-5 hands-on activities per week, either developmental or related to readings
    • Core K - Moved Apple and the Arrow to end of the year. Removed The Real Mother Goose and replaced with The Arnold Lobel Book of Mother Goose
    • Core 2 and Core 1+2 - Removed A Child's Garden of Verses and replaced with A Poke in the I by Paul B. Janeczko and a bind-up of 4 poetry books by James Stevenson. This is titled Cornstalks: A Bushel of Poems
    • Newcomer 4 - removed Horizons Math 4 and replaced it with Teaching Textbooks 4 (4M20)
    • Core 5 - 100 Gateway Cities updated to include more current information
    • Core 7 - removed The Dark Frigate and replaced it with The Ravenmaster's Secret: Escape from the Tower of London by Elvira Woodruff and Out of Many Waters by Jacqueline Dembar Greene. Removed Painless Poetry and replaced with Classic Poetry by Michael Rosen (previously in Core 3)
  • BINDERS - We've removed the binder and tabs from all Core packages (will remain in the Newcomer packages) and created a new item (#B050) 3" binder with tabs for K - Alt 7 (replaces #Binder3)
  • SCIENCE
    • Science 1 - adding 1 cow magnet to Science Supply Kit 1
    • Science 2 - removed The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible and replaced it with Dinosaurs Unleashed by Kyle Butt
    • Science Schedule Plus - now include a separate line in the Schedule for the textbook on CD ROM, and a schedule of the Companion Multimedia CD (7TSA, 150-02, 250-01, 350-01, 450-01, 550-01)
    • Advanced Biology - added the Multimedia Companion CD (550-21) to the Advanced Biology package (550-00)and selling as a separate item
  • LANGUAGE ARTS
    • 2TLA & 2TXR' - removed Shadrach and replaced it with The King's Equal by Katherine Patterson, and The Children of Noisy Village by Astrid Lindgren.
    • Grammar Supplements - NOT to be released in catalog 2010, but when complete: Grammar Supplements for LA 5 and 6. (We will still carry Grammar Ace as previously recommended for grades 4-7).
