AP Exam Practice Questions (9.23.16)

In response to the fact that answers are not provided for these AP practice questions:
Please note that the AP Exam Practice Questions listed in the schedule are intended as extra practice before the unit tests; they are not included in your grade calculated in the Interactive Workbook and Diary. While the answers are not found in your text, you may read through them to make sure you understand the concept. If you find you are unfamiliar with the content of the question, use that as a chance to re-read that section of Myers’ Psychology for AP.

Strive for 5 email (9.23.15)

Thank you for ordering the Sonlight Psychology program. I trust that you and your family are enjoying a great year. Through customer feedback, we've determined that including an answer key for the Strive for a 5 workbook would be most helpful. We've since worked with the publisher to make the answer key available to you, free of charge.
If you'd like to receive the answer key, please complete the brief Homeschool Affidavit, which assures the publisher that you will use this resource for educational purposes only. Please also locate your proof of purchase. A copy of the order, found on your Sonlight account page, should suffice.
Contact the publisher at 1-866-843-3715 or email [email protected] to submit the affidavit and proof of purchase and request your answer key. We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause. If we can do anything more to assist you, please contact Customer Relations at 303-730-6292 or 1-800-903-1675, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Mountain Time (6-4, Pacific Time; 9-7, Eastern Time). You may also email [email protected].

Update: Strive for 5 (9.11.15)

Customers that request an answer key for the Strive For a 5 Psychology product, should contact the vendor either by phone (866-843-3715) or by email ([email protected]). Product Development is working on a letter of explanation to include with orders, and an email to send to customers that have already purchased.

New Product - Strive for 5 (8.17.15)

Description and comments from Jeff Corson:
Yes, the new Myers workbook that accompanies the text does not have answers.
It is meant to help each student assess their understanding of each module as they read. For example, there is a section labeled "before your read" which lists terms and ideas to look for in the reading.
Then there is a section titled "while you read" which contains charts and questions that the student can use to check their understanding or take notes while they are reading. The questions generally come straight from the text and sometimes even refer to diagrams in the text. It sometimes even lists page numbers in the text to help the student find the answers. Since many of these questions are definitions straight out of the reading, I guess the publishers didn't feel the need to include the answers. There are some application questions and I wish they would have provided those answers.
Then there is an "after you read" section which has some summary or application type questions. Sometime they are objective and sometimes they are having the student apply leaning to their own life. Again, apparently the publisher felt the workbook was more important to allow the student to assess their own understanding, to reveal to the student gaps in their learning instead of just thumbing to the answer page and writing in the correct answers. To be honest, I understand both sides, but I can't change the publishers decision.
The main part of the class is still the text and my diary workbook. The reading workbook is meant as a supplement to use when helpful. I think it does a good job, but it will be tough for parents who want a quick answer without reading.

Interactive Workbook/Diary Errors/Changes:

  • Week 1 - Schedule for the Workbook/Diary is incorrect. Should read Modules 1, 2 and 3. (8.24.15)

Psychology Questions/Concerns (9.23.13)

Author of Workbook/Diary offers his email address for students to ask him questions directly. Last page before Appendix 1, Class Conclusion: The most difficult part of this class for me has been not interacting with you in person. I would appreciate any thoughts, feedback, or comments you had about this course or the impact it has had on you. Therefore, your last “assignment” is to e-mail me and share your thoughts with me at [email protected].

2013 Psychology Edition Details (8.2.13)

  • We are carrying the 9th Edition David Myer's textbook. Though there is a 10th edition available, we will not be carrying it for the 2013-14 catalog year.
  • Our Interactive Workbook and Diary is written specifically to the 9th edition text. There is no way to know if it will also work with the 10th edition as we have no way of knowing what updates/changes have been made to the text.

Psychology Schedule error (07.29.13)

The schedule for Weeks 4 through 6 are missing from the Sonlight Psychology Workbook and Diary. This will be provided as a download on the curriculum updates page.

Psychology Schedule (11.26.12)

Customers have complained about the lack of an IG for Psychology. We will be producing a "schedule" for 2013 (not an IG). There is a rough draft attached here. Feel free to share with customers, but be sure to note the following:

  • This will not necessarily match the course plan in the Guide. Units are still in the same order, but the months/weeks are more evenly spaced so the work is evenly distributed.
  • Does not include the Myers Study Guide pages that go with each section. The customer will need to do the part that corresponds to the Myers textbook.
  • This is NOT an official schedule. It may contain errors.
  • Psych Rough Draft Schedule

Psychology Workbook/Diary (6.21.11)

  • Item #590-01 is now eligible for Repurchase Discount

Psychology Text new edition (updated 9.12.11)

  • Workbook/Diary has been updated to work with 9th edition text
    • ERROR: pg xvi in How to Use This Book incorrectly states it is to be used with the 8th ed.
  • Since the Text has been changed so much with this update, the earlier edition of our workbook/diary will *NOT* work with the 9th edition text.

Schedule, Using (09.09)

Basic outline of how to use:

  • Read the chapter, then do the study guide workbook.
  • Then work on interactive diary.
  • Diary instructs them when to do the tests, just follow order in Diary.
  • In the front section of the Diary there is a suggested schedule along with a letter explaining what is in the Diary
  • This is an AP class - so it is reasonable to assume 3 hours of 'class time' and 9 hours of 'homework' for a total of 10 to 12 hours per week
  • Recommend they visit the forums for suggestions on scheduling
  • words in boxes are vocabulary to memorize
  • OQ are daily opportunity quizzes - answer key in appendix

Psych Textbook - DVD (09.01.09)

There is no dvd included in the Psych textbook.

Study Guide(7.27.09)

This item is not sold separately even though it could be considered consumable. We have to purchase the textbook and study guide as a package, so we are not ready to split those packages to sell components separately. Thus, we would recommend doing the Study Guide work in a separate notebook. The Sonlight Workbook/Diary, however, is consumable.
