Core 300 Support

A special Core 300 Support Forum has been created to further assist customers who may be struggling with the 2007 Core 300 product. Please suggest that customers check there when they have questions. Core 300 product pages will also be updated today to include a slightly modified version of the email that went out to all Core 300 customers this week. (10.26.07)

Core 300 Email to Customers - 10.24.07

Email sent to customers 10.24.07 offering coupon/refunds due to CD and IG issues. Email sent to all customers who have purchased the Core 300 package or those who have purchased a combination of the Core 300 IG and the 20th Century CD-ROM. Beyond apologizing for the frustrations with both the CD-ROM and the lack of sufficient answers for the IG Study Guide questions, the email will also include a $20.00 coupon. Customers will also be offered three resolutions:

  1. If they are making good use of their Core 300, we offer the coupon with our blessings.
  2. If they are entirely unable to make this program work for them, we will allow them to return their Core package for a full refund, whether or not they are outside of the LTL time limits
  3. If the primary issue is the CD-ROM and not the IG, we will refund the purchase price of the CD ($29.99) and offer the suggestion that they might find a World Book online subscription to be helpful.

If customers find none of these resolutions satisfactory, the email will direct them to contact Customer Relations via phone or email.

Core 300 - Trouble Installing DK CD

  • Windows XP - Customer can download a patch for the DK CD from http://www.learnatglobal.com/html/xp_sound.html
  • Vista - The publisher indicates the CD is NOT Vista compatible; however, some customers have been able to install and use it successfully.
  • Font Issues -
    • One customer stated he had a font issue. He went to the control panel, picked whatever font was the problem, and hasn't had any difficulty since.
    • Customer should see an error when they install or load the CD referring to font. We *think* the default font on their computer has to be reset in the control panel, as whatever they have chosen is incompatible with the DK CD.

Unfortunately, the 20th Century Day by Day book is out-of-print as well as out-of-stock. Our product development team is aware of the issue for Vista and Mac users, but at this time we do not have an alternative to offer. 300-01 Errors

12.3.07 - Week 8 schedule contains a minor error. Although How to Ruin Your Life by 40 is listed as the Bible reader for the week, the listed assignments, which are correct, are actually for the book Know What You Believe.
