General Science Schedule Plus Errors
General Science 2nd edition update (4.23.08) The only *change* to the Science Kit (based on the 2nd edition) is Dr. Wile’s recommendation that safety glasses be used for all experiments. We will not be changing the kit for this year (2008).
Apologia General Science 2nd Edition update (4.7.08)[2nd Edition is now available, 1st edition is no longer available 7.08]
We were informed by Apologia that their 2nd edition would not be available until May 1st. Thus, we will continue to sell the 1st edition that is in our warehouse since we purchased stock for March and April based on their information.
NOTE: If international customers wish the 2nd edition, please have them put a comment in their order stating that they want 2nd edition and are willing to wait (and for us to hold their international order) until we receive the 2nd edition book. Also, if they want our Schedule Plus for 2nd edition, they should make that clear as well. If the schedule takes longer than the 30-day hold on their order, we will ship it later at our expense for shipping.
Instructions for using Plaster Experiments 6.3 and 7.1
Use 1 cup of dry plaster for 6.3, page 146. Use ½ cup of dry plaster for 7.1, page 162. Use cold water when mixing. Add Plaster of Paris to clear water in container. 1 cup plaster to scant ½ cup cold water. ½ cup plaster to scant ¼ cup cold water. If mixture is too thick – add more water by the ¼ spoonful. Will harden within 30 minutes. WARNING! Wash hands and surfaces thoroughly when finished!
Experiment 6.2, page 143. We have provided ½ cup of sand and ½ cup of gravel. Use ½ cup dirt from your yard or garden to complete the requirements of the experiment.
