Saxon Algebra 1/2 & higher Contents (4.16.09)
The Homeschool kit is only available as a kit including the student text, answer key and test packet. Saxon allows us to sell the test packets separately for successive students but the answer key is not available separately. It must be purchased as part of the set. Sonlight kit contents:
- Text
- Answer Key for text problems (The pb answer key is not included when they purchase the test packet.)
- The Answer Key contains the final answer to every problem in the student text book and also contains answers to the test questions.
- The answer key includes solutions for the tests (in the 3rd edition Algebra 1 book ONLY) and final answers only for the text.
- The test manuals are not labeled as Test/Answers. Instead, they only contain the title and edition of the Saxon Math program and have "Homeschool Packet" labeled in the upper right hand corner. I also checked the Saxon Math programs for all grades. This holds true for prealgebra up. In case a customer is "missing" the Test/Answers manual, have him or her check for this book first.
- Test packet
- Solutions Manual
- DIVE CD

Saxon Calculus -- Contents, is it AP? Dive follows Saxon Calculus, 1st edition text. Covers all material on the Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus AB exam, and some of the BC exam. Major topics are: limits, functions, trigonometry, derivatives and differentials, and integrals, Applications to physics, chemistry, engineering and business are included as well. Lectures taught from a Christian worldview and emphasize that mathematics is a tool for studying God's creation and that it is a way to develop logical thinking skills, particularly deductive reasoning. Not affiliated with Saxon publishers. (Per Dr. Shormann)
Saxon Calculus -- Test info [09.20.16] Per CR: There are 37 tests in the testing book and 148 problem sets. It seems like they would do one test every 4 problem sets.

Is geometry covered in Saxon?
Geometry is integrated throughout both the Saxon and Singapore mathematics programs. The United States remains the only industrialized country in which students normally take a separate course in geometry. Saxon follows the example of the Asian and European countries by offering an integrated curriculum instead of one comprising separate, compartmentalized courses. The treatment of geometry is integrated throughout the entire series and is most heavily concentrated in Algebra 2 and Advanced Mathematics. Students who complete both Algebra 2 and Advanced Mathematics will have completed one full year of Euclidean geometry.
