How do you handle the 4-day schedule if your state requires 180 days per year?
The idea behind the 4-day schedule was to allow the 5th day to be used for activities such as co-op classes, music lessons, sports activities, field trips, and so on. The list is endless! These are all legitimate educational activities, and thus can be counted as a day of school. Many homeschoolers use this day to incorporate practical living activities such as crafts, cooking, housekeeping skills, and so on. The bottom line is, just because you are not engaged in "academic" activities on the 4th day does not mean that education is not taking place!
