Number of Installations
You can uninstall and reinstall Math 7 and below CD an infinite number of times on a computer, which means that as one child completes a school year, you can just uninstall and reinstall and have another child do the course the next year with an all new grade book. This allows the whole family to use a single set. Teaching Textbooks has also allowed installation on a second computer to accommodate families who need two children to work on Math 6 or 7 at the same time. The program is designed to block installation on more than two different computers at the same time; however, if you need an additional installation because of a new computer purchase or to have more than two students use the product simultaneously, just call their office toll-free at 1-866-867-6284 and Teaching Textbooks can give you another installation privilege. Unfortunately, Teaching Textbook's experience has been that the number of installations must be limited to protect against the use of a single product for an entire classroom. (2.11.08)
Textbook consumable or not?
- Teaching Textbooks considers this product to be consumable.
- The publisher does say this product was designed to be consumable and we need to honor the publisher and confirm that. But, we can share helpful hints from our experience, and in our (collective) experience this product can easily be used as a non-consumable item. To use the automatic grading and gradebook feature the student will have to enter the answers on the computer, and using other paper to work the problems will allow the student room to do the work on the problems.
Can a student re-do a lesson without uninstalling and reinstalling?
Unfortunately there is not a way to re-do a lesson without uninstalling and reinstalling. This would wipe out the entire gradebook. What you can do though is re-work the problems in the workbook and check the answers in the answer key. The solution is still available on the CD if there is still any trouble. You can print out the gradebook and then change the score(s) manually. You just can't change it in the digital gradebook. (1.17.08)
