Full-Course CD-ROMs from Apologia

Apologia Educational Ministries, the publisher of the Apologia Science Curriculum, has let us know about two issues with some of their full-course CD-ROMs. We apologize for the frustration these issues have caused. (9.2019)

  • 1. Full Course CDs not working - If you are unable to get your CD-ROM to work on a newer operating system, please visit their FAQ page for instructions. https://www.apologia.com/faqs/index.php?action=artikel&cat=11&id=234&artlang=en-us&highlight=full%5C-course
  • 2. No serial number - Some CDs were printed without a serial number. You will need to register your product to receive technical support. The serial number should be either on a white sticker in the case (possibly behind a CD or DVD) or printed at the end of the paper insert in the case. If you do not have a serial number, please send proof of purchase to [email protected], and Apologia Technical Support will provide you with a serial number so you can register your product. Please note that you don’t need to register your product before using it.

Where are the multimedia files on the e-book CD? The multimedia links are interwoven throughout the text on the CD. [For example, in Module 1 on the page labeled "Atoms and Molecules 2" under Figure 1.2 is a purple clickable button that says "Click to see a video about the Statue of Liberty."] You may disregard references to the Multimedia CD on your schedule, as you will just click on those links as you come to them in the text. (The example given here is for the Physical Science CD.) -KC. 9.11.14.

Copying contents of CD to hard drive (12.31.13)

There is a way to copy the CD onto your computer and run from the computer rather than off of the CD. You will need to make a folder on the desktop.

To do this, right-click onto a blank space on the desktop, choose New, and then Folder. Once the folder is created, you will be able to name the folder to whatever you would like. Once you have named the folder, double click on the folder to open it.

Now that the folder is made and opened, you will need to copy everything from the CD into that folder.

To do this, open My Comuter, right-click on the drive labeled "AEM_". Once you are in the folder, press CTRL+A on the keyboard, (everything should now be selected). Drag and drop the selected items into the open folder.

From now on, you will open the folder on the desktop and double-click on the autorun.exe file.

NOTE: remind customer that the CD is copyrighted and cannot be distributed.

Science Schedules

Inquisicorp is the publisher of the schedules. They are NOT covered by the Love to Learn guarantee unless they are part of a Core Ultra; they are eligible for the 6 month return policy (in resaleable condition) as with any other item not in a core package or a Sonlight IG. These are NOT Sonlight IG's!

Apologia Science and Math Correlation 5.27.05

Regarding the need to take Algebra and Apologia Biology in the same year, here is the "official" word ... A year of algebra is a prerequisite for chemistry and so first year Algebra should be taken at the same time as biology in order to be ready for chemistry next. Also, the eduational research that has been done seems to show that when a student is ready for algebra they are mentally ready for the rigors of a high school biology course. The point being that although Apologia does recommend taking Algebra and Biology together, it is *not* because there is any inherent correlation between the two. It is, instead, because of the need for Algebra as a prerequisite for Chemistry.

Copying tests in Apologia products

According to Dr. Wile, customers may copy the tests.

Update 9.19.07 - tests may be copied for use in a family *or* a group setting.
