Recommendations Concerning Selection of Racks

Shelf depth of racks varies between 1.5" and 2.5" ... the deeper shelves accommodate larger IGs and books much better. (Kelly)

Big Flora or Thin Flora both have 2.5" shelf depth. I have used mine for IGs, samplers and even a Core display, depending on the size and shape of my booth. They work well for a lot of applications, with the Thin Flora taking less space. (Jill)

I wouldn't put IGs in a floor rack. Samplers are one thing, but I want IGs up and out where everyone can see them, regardless of how many are in the booth. A floor rack gets lost among the legs and feet when our booth is full. Samplers are not as much of a concern to me ... and I do like my floor rack ... but I want my IGs up on top of a table in full sight and accessible without having to bend down. (Judy)

Last year I used the Thin Flora to display my samplers as Sandy did in the demo booth, but the year before that I used it for one-week samples of Cores. That looked pretty busy, so I prefer to use it for samplers. I haven't used it for IGs simply because a few people standing around the rack can hide it too easily. (Kelly)

My most favorite way to do IGs is to use the La Nina on the front table with about 6 of the most popular IGs in it and a sign that says, "Lesson Plans Done for You" or something along that line. Then on a further back table, I put one of the regular racks (Ms. Popularity or Mr. Popularity) with the remainder of the Core IGs and duplicates of the ones I have on the smaller rack. I like this because I can grab and IG quickly to show someone how it works. Folks do stop to look at the IGs. Even if they only pause for a second, one of us can say, "Are you familiar with Sonlight? (grabbing an IG) We have a great literature-based curriculum and all the lessons plans are done for you." By this time I have the IG opened, etc. Once you have them interested in the IG right at the beginning, it is easy to get them back in the booth to see some of the books, or the correct IG for them and so on.
