This is where you will find a compilation of tips shared by SCRs for surviving the weekend. General supplies for your booth are included on the Pre-Convention Check List. These tips focus on the physical support for the SCR and her assistants.
One nice idea is to prepare a gift bag/survival kit for each of your assistants with an assortment of some of the items listed below.
Recommended Snacks
- trail mix
- nuts
- dried fruit
- baby carrots
- cheese sticks
- protein or granola bar
- peanut butter crackers
- and, of course, chocolate!
Throat and Voice Support
- Water, water, WATER
- lip balm
- breath mints
- apple cider vinegar (unpasteurized) in squirt bottle
- Oasis throat moistener - available in drug store
- Throat Coat herbal tea by Traditional Medicinals
- honey
- throat lozenges or hard candy
A Firm Foundation
- good shoes - possibly a change of shoes for midday or second day
- cushion floor mats - usually available at Sam's, Costco, Home Depot, etc.
- Tips for after-event pampering for aching feet
- fuzzy socks or slippers for relaxing at the hotel in the evening
Miscellaneous
- hand lotion
- tissues
- wet wipes
- hand sanitizer
- hair clip or band (if you have long hair and start out with it down but may later want to pull it back)
- contact lens rewetting solution (if needed)
- reading glasses (if needed)
- Tylenol, Aleve, Excedrin, Advil...your preference
- antacids
- Band-aids
- feminine products
- safety pins
- sewing kit
- sweater (some exhibit halls can be drafty)
- scarf
- umbrella
