Update on RS Tech Support (6.27.12)
Beginning July 1, 2012 RS will be making changes to their customer support options. From that date on, when a customer purchases RS they will have 6 months of access to phone support at no charge. After that 6 months, there will be a per incident charge for phone support (only). Sonlight customers will be asked for their date of purchase (from SL) when they call.
- RS will charge $19.99 for phone support only since the product was purchased more than 6 mo ago.
- The following options exist for RS support:
- Email and chat support are still free
- Self-help at success.rosettastone.com is still free
- Customers are welcome to upgrade to a newer version and get free support for another 6 months
- Customers can pay $19.99 and get phone support for their incident (meaning 5 calls on the same issue is still covered, and we refund if the issue cannot be solved).
- Starting July 1, 2012 RS will be desupporting all Version 2 products. Customers can choose to go through customer care to upgrade to Version 3.
- There is a discount to go from Ver 2 to Ver 3, but those orders have to go through the RS customer care dept. The discount will depend on what program the customer currently has and what they wish to order.
Update on RS Tech Support (12.8.11)
Rosetta Stone should be providing general tech support to our customers at no cost, and with no requirement of proof of purchase. However, if a customer's computer crashes and they need to reactivate, a proof of purchase will be required by RS. Also, if a customer uninstalled without deactivating, and was trying to reinstall, proof of purchase would be required. So RS will primarily require proof of purchase when they wish to be sure they are only giving licenses to customers who purchased through them or an authorized retailer.

Our customers receive the same customer care and tech support as people who purchase directly from RS. If a customer is told by RS that they must contact Sonlight for tech support, please let Judy know.

Version 3 tech issues (6.25.08) - Some customers are experiencing difficulty with the Parent Administrative Tools (aka Student Management System in Version 2) which has nothing to do with the Vista OS. It has to do with reporting progress, and there are some exercises that are reporting progress incorrectly in the progress report. Rosetta Stone will provice a patch which will be pushed out to customers in an update (free of charge) which will likely be ready in August. Unfortunately, this was a bug that was not discovered in pre-launch testing, and it is something that affects customers using the "full year" curriculum. No data is being lost, so once the patch is ready, reports should be available as if nothing had happened. The update will be available as an Internet download. 9.16.08 - The patch is now available. Customer will find it by using the "Check for Updates" link which will allow them to run an auto update within the program.
Vista compatibility issues - (updated 6.25.08) Rosetta Stone Version 3 is fully compatible with Vista.
