  • Language Arts 4 - Scheduled beginning in Week 19. Topic: Write about your state or place where you live.
  • Language Arts 3+4 - Scheduled beginning in Week 25. Topic: Write about your state or place where you live.
  • Language Arts 5 - Scheduled beginning in Week 19. Topic: Compare and contrast two societies from your EHE.
  • Language Arts 6 - Scheduled beginning in Week 33. Topic: Analysis of the impact of a person from your history books.
  • Core 7 - Student uses research skills in several different writing assignments, but doesn't do one formal research project:
    • Week 7 - "A Well-Researched Non-Research Paper"
    • Week 13 - "A Revolutionary Paper" (Week 14 in 4-day)
    • Week 15 - "Sick of Writing
    • Week 17 - "Napoleon is Dynamite"
    • Week 25 - "Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Read All About It!"

  • Core 400 - Scheduled in Weeks 6-12 (Topic: Choose a important problem that you would like to solve) and in Weeks 28-34 (Topic: Position paper).
  • Core 530 - Scheduled in Weeks 10 (Topic: Comparison paper between two books, two authors, too characters, two settings, or two poems) and Week 24 (Topic: Choose your own).

Research Paper assignments (3.9.09)

Will only be found in the LA IGs for the 2009 print run. These assignments have been removed from the Core IGs.

Position Paper (8.23.07)

Those Cores which required a "position paper" have had that assignment removed and replaced with the requirement for a "research paper". Unfortunately, the change wasn't made to the Core schedule pages. So, simply tell customers that the assignment should be for a research paper, and the necessary information is found in the Research Paper appendix. (8.23.07)

Research Paper Schedule in Core IG vs. LA IG (8.08.07, updated 1.21.08)

Due to a lack of communication, the Research Paper schedule found in our Core IGs does not match the Research Paper schedule found in our LA IGs. This is true of levels 3+4, 4, 5 and 6. Please direct customers to follow the LA IG Research Paper schedule and ignore the schedule found in their Core IG. (updated 8.8.07)
