A History of US 2nd edition (5.1.12)
The 2012 Core 100 IG has a note in week one which directs customers to our web site for a schedule for the 2nd edition, if they are using an older set of History of US. The note does not give a specific page on our site. After the IG went to print, we decided we did not want to offer the schedule on our site as it might open up questions regarding our ability to support old versions of other products. If a customer asks about the 2nd edition schedule, please feel free to email it to them.
A History of US Volume 10 (6.17.11)
A History of US Book 10 has been released in a fourth edition. All other books are still the third revised edition. There are five new chapters that cover from 2005-2009 and chapters 52-53 have been re-written. Product Development will have to write new content for those chapters and put out a new schedule for it. More information to follow. (6.17.11)
A History of US Volume 11 (8.10.09)
Designed to accompany Joy Hakim's ten-volume A History of US or as a stand-alone reference, this collection of great American documents is ideal for all students of American history. Filled with primary sources, the Sourcebook and Index traces the gradual unfolding of ideas of freedom in America through letters, declarations, proclamations, court decisions, speeches, laws, acts, the Constitution, and other writings.
Updated with a complete listing of the constitutional amendments and a listing of the presidents with key information about them, the Sourcebook and Index is arranged chronologically, beginning with the Magna Carta and ending with Ronald Reagan's 1988 speech at Moscow State University. Each document is introduced and placed in historical context. Difficult vocabulary is defined in the margins along with explanatory notes and commentary that aids in understanding the meaning and historical importance of each document. Neatly cross-referenced with key sections of A History of US, the Sourcebook and Index is an easy-to-use collection of the documents most essential to understanding American history.
Included are some of the many voices whose words have moved the nation: Ben Franklin, Tom Paine, Abigail Adams, Thomas Jefferson, St. John de Crevecoeur, George Washington, Sagoyewatha, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, Alexis de Tocqueville, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, Chief Joseph, Woodrow Wilson, Herbert Hoover, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Ronald Reagan

Ability to use different version from what is scheduled in IG
- 2008 IG
- can be used with BOTH the 3rd edition AND the 3rd revised edition;
- 3rd edition shows various copyright dates 2003 - 2006; all say 3rd edition on the inside, few say it on the outside cover;
- With the exception of a few Third Edition HUS *sets* (which we expect to sell quickly), we are currently carrying the Third Revised edition of HUS. (3.31.08)
- The Core 100 2008 IG will work with either the Third or Third Revised edition.
- 2007 - began carrying 3rd revised in June, 2007, as stock ran out; Volume 2 revised 3rd edition required a change to one question; volume 10 added a chapter. Production will release revisions for the IG soon. [REMEMBER: your IG may or may not match what the customer has for 2007 editions!]
- 2003 - 2004: The Core 7, 2003 IG includes the schedules for both the 2nd and 3rd editions. 2004 IG includes the schedule for the 3rd edition only. There is a difference in book 10 because more recent information was added, but for those who already have edition 2, they do not need to get another one. Sandy did compare book 8, 2nd and 3rd edition. Book 8 was identical with the exception of a picture change or two and an additional 2 page spread about mail order. The chapter headings/numbers were the same.
- 2002 or prior IG - 1st versus 2nd edition: Customers have indicated they were frustrated by their attempts to use the 1st edition with our IG keyed to the 2nd edition. The page numbers were different, which caused confusion and it required additional time on their part to adapt. So, yes, you probably can use an alternate edition, but it will take your modification to adapt the schedule to your edition of The History of US.
