When we are doing Draw today, it isn't about if we can finish in one sitting. It is more about, did we grasp the concept being taught. Can we move on, or should we work on it more. So to answer her question I would tell her it would depend on the student(s) she has working on it. And if she felt they should move on or stay with the same concept. I believe that she could work on Sculpt or paint, the entire year.

Paint Today

Paint Today - age recommendation: Artskills, the publisher, recommends using Paint Today for students age 10 and above.

My daughter did Paint Today, and it is something you would want to do in pretty big chunks of time (1.5 hours, etc) as the paints are messy and you have to mix them up, blending the colors, intensity, etc. You would probably finish a project in each chunk of time. Just allow enough time, or it wouldn't be worth all the preliminary work if you couldn't finish the project after you had your paints all ready to go. My daughter actually did the whole thing in one day--about 8 hours. She could have done more on her own type stuff afte that, but she finished all the video instruction and projects in that time. She was 18 though.
