Language Arts 2 and Explode the Code - 2TL does follow the lessons in Explode the Code 4, 5, & 6 and so do the Word Lists in the I Can Read It! series. It is not always a straight correlation, for example, 3 lessons in Explode the Code 4 (6, 7 & 8) are covered over 2 weeks (6 & 7) of 2TL and 3 lessons in the I Can Read It! lists (39, 40, & 41). Also, Review Lessons in ETC are covered in 2TL, but not in the ICRI Word Lists.

If you own it, please note that the Sonlight phonics book, I Can Read It!, follows the same phonetic progression as the Explode the Code series. If you would like additional practice and reinforcement of the lessons in I Can Read It!, we have scheduled the Explode the Code workbooks as optional activities. We have also provided extra word lists in I Can Read It! lessons 35 and following that coordinate with the Explode the Code 4, 5, and 6. (5.22.08)
