  • Advisors - we were previously informed that the book included questions and activities; this was NOT accurate, hence the need for the activity sheets. For those with the 2007 Edition of the IG, our answer is: The Grand Experiment lends itself easily to discussion, so you should find it easy to use without student activity sheets.
  • 2008 IG will include activity sheets for this book.

Update 1.8.08 - we will be sending an informational email to all Science 6 IG purchasers from mid-August (when It Couldn't Just Happen went OOP) to now. This will inform them of the posted schedule.
Update 1.10.08 - we will mail the hardcopy schedule to everyone who ordered 6TS from 8/15 through the day we begin to include the revised schedule in shipments. Once the schedules come back from the printer, we will pick them with all new orders and include with the IG along with an explanatory letter.

Enclosed is a copy of Evolution: The Grand Experiment. Although this book is not featured in your Instructor's Guide yet, we've developed a plan to help your science continue smoothly for the year while we create a supplement to your Instructor's Guide that includes a schedule for this book.

We encourage you to begin your science study in Week 11 of your Instructor's Guide and continue to follow the guide to its end, Week 36. Meanwhile, our staff will develop a brand new Instructor's Guide supplement to walk you through Evolution: The Grand Experiment. We'll get that guide to you during the month of January so you can complete Weeks 1-10 of the schedule using Evolution: The Grand Experiment toward the end of the school year. Please be aware there will be no replacement activity sheets for It Couldn't Just Happen.

It Couldn't Just Happen error (8.23.07) On page 31 of this book there's an error under the heading A Major Mystery. It states that "Two parts of oxygen combined with one of hydrogen produces water."

Science 6 Tops book for overseas clients

TOPS book, "Analysis": Beginning with Card 12 (and continuing through card 16), they need indicator made from red cabbage. If the customer is unable to locate red cabbage, grape juice should work. The colors will probably be a bit different, but there should be a color change. Test for a color change first by adding the grape juice to some diluted ammonia and then adding a lot of vinegar to that solution. There should be a color change.
