Suggestions on Scheduling

Several Key to packages are included as supplemental materials in math kits Sonlight offers to our customers. We believe these materials are excellent reinforcement for key concepts. For ultimate flexibility we do not schedule these products for you.

Take the total number of pages in the books you wish to cover this year and divide by the number of weeks in your school year. That gives you the number of pages per week to cover. You may wish to schedule the Key to daily or every other day - just take the total number of pages per week and divide by the number of days you wish to work on this material.

Details on Keys to series

Keys to... Simpler initially and progressively more complex... within each book. Each book is its own course. It does not assume you've done any other book previous. Remember the books are just extra help on specific math problems. Keys to Algebra is considered a 'half step' before formal Algebra 1.

Books 1-4 are restricted to operations on integers so that students who have not yet mastered fractions can begin their study of algebra. In Books 5-7 operations on fractions are taught as students study rational algebraic expressions. Books 8-10 cover real numbers, graphs, systems of equations, square roots and quadratic equations.
