I was thinking about you the other day. [Well, obviously, not about you personally. But I was thinking about people like you: Sonlighters for whom this may be their first year purchasing a Core from Sonlight or even their first year homeschooling, period.]

I'm hopeful that you're having a great time. On the other hand, if you're like about a third of our first-time Core customers, your educational adventure may be getting off to a--what should I say?--less than thrilling start.

And that's not so hard to understand.

There are lots of homeschoolers whose sons or daughters cop an attitude that drives them crazy. Or who struggle to figure out how to schedule their days to make them work the way they want them to. Others find themselves driven to distraction by a preschooler who just won't cooperate with the homeschooling regime. Or they have children who are simply outside the 'average' portion of the bell curve: they've got a super-achiever, or a child who has pronounced learning difficulties or behavioral characteristics that require special attention. Or, perhaps, these unhappy homeschoolers are simply (oh, yes! Simply!) at their wits' end: they feel helpless and want to give up. . . .

Whatever the cause, I know a lot of Sonlighters find homeschooling way more difficult than they expected. And they are--or are about to become--discouraged.

So I was thinking about these Sonlighters--you--the other day. And I thought, I've got to give you-all a call! Only, obviously, I can't give everyone a call. . . . But I can have our Advisor team, made up of veteran Sonlight users with special training in using and choosing Sonlight materials to call in my behalf!

So that's what I've done. And that's what we--or, rather, they--are going to do.

I asked Peter Rouse, our customer fulfillment manager, to our advisor team if they'd be willing to call the newer Core purchasers. He did, and they have responded enthusiastically: Yes! In fact: How wonderful! I would love to do it! . . . I wish someone had called me at that time!

So I've got a bunch of veteran Sonlighters who are all excited about making these calls. And I wanted you to know that someone--some fellow Sonlighter -- should be calling you just to see how you're doing. We want to provide you whatever encouragement, support, counsel, advice, prayer . . . or . . . whatever you need . . . to help you succeed in your homeschool calling.

If she--whoever calls you--discovers you need some help and is unable to help you directly, then, Peter has instructed her to get in touch with us to find someone who can. (I assure you: someone among all our customers has dealt with similar problems to those you may face! . . . In fact, you could probably find such a person right now among the more than 6,000 people who are participating in the Sonlighters Club Forums <http://www.sonlight-forums.com> .)
