When you purchase a complete Core or Full-Grade package you are eligible for a 10% discount on most everything in that order and all other orders for the next 12 months, along with other club benefits. No substitutions or deletions are possible.
Sonlight chose to offer this discount because the purchase of a complete package speeds up the shipping and handling process. It is much simpler for those in the warehouse to grab a complete package off the shelf for you. (It is simpler for you to order a complete package also - no typing in individual item numbers! And, don't forget the full 18-week guarantee when you purchase a complete Core!)
When comparing the individual price of the books they already own with the value of the discount they receive on a package and any additional items ordered, many customers find it actually saves money to order the package and duplicate some of the books! Those families will often use the duplicate books for gifts. Of course, you may always order items individually if you don't wish to purchase a complete package.
It is not at all uncommon for customers considering the purchase of a Full Grade or Core package to find that they already own some of the titles that are scheduled in that program - or they would like to leave out one of the components included in our packages. While it is possible to order individual titles to obtain the complete package without duplication, in doing so you may lose the perks included in the Core or Full Grade purchase - the 10% discount [12-20% on Full Grade] on this order and 10% on any other order in the next 12 months [10% off does not apply to an additional discount on another Core purchase], and more! Compare the total price of the books that you already own with the value of the discount on the Full Grade or Core package. In my experience, the discount will most always represent a higher value, making it more economical to order the Core package with some duplication of books. Thereby you take advantage of the discount on that order as well as any further orders placed within the next 12 months. The duplicate titles can then be donated to a local library or given as gifts.
