Intent of Copyright policy - 11.26.04

Wayne at Sonlight has just posted in the Moderator Discussions forum of Sonlight Discussion under the title of Copyright question???.
Here is the message that has just been posted:
I just thought I would state that the policy has an intent and it has an actual wording. Though we try very hard to mesh the two, we realize we most likely fall short in some fashion. We simply can't and don't anticipate all possible scenarios or questions. And, I suppose if we could anticipate everything, we still wouldn't want to make the policy that much more verbose and even more complicated.
So, let me suggest that when these issues come up, that you reiterate the exising policy and say our intent is to limit the copying of our IGs to actual uses in and for the family. If they have to have more information, I would then suggest you forward them to us for that dialog, so you all don't have to act like Solomon in these matters! :)
I know this doesn't directly answer the several questions that have arisen, but I prefer we try to keep such dialog limited, as each scenario can be different and not all will interpret the responses the same.
Foundational Grammar Copyright Policy
This is a Sonlight (not Inquisicorp) product and as such our intent is to allow customers to copy any portions needed for multiple students as long as they meet the copyright guidelines (i.e. original purchaser for use by immediate family only). The current copyright statement in this product is the standard one which applies to IG's, but not really to this particular product. Production will work on updating this for the future.
