Sonlight Copyright Policy

Details of copyright policy

Per Wayne ...
We do not have a policy on the sale of products to others. In essence, when a person buys a product from us, they become the owner, much like a person that buys a car. Hence, they can then sell that product as they wish. WE would prefer that such sales did not take place, but we are not in control of that. So, while we do not wish to encourage sales of items purchased from us or others, we cannot preclude.

However, making copies (any reproductions) of any product is something we do have rights regarding, as that is copyright infringement if done without our permission, whether the owner is the original person or a subsequent purchaser. Hence, there are rules for copying and reproducing, which say no one can do so without our permission. That does not mean a person cannot buy or sell products as they may wish – but only originals, as selling copies would be illegal. But again we do not encourage sales.

This is complicated by the repurchased items, as they are offered at a discount, and it would be unethical to sell a repurchased IG to another unless the criteria is met – to one family only and one time only.
