IDEA or RAVEN details 7.25.05
Anyone who orders through a school organization such as IDEA or RAVEN ... as you probably already know, there are certain of our products and packages which these organizations *will* authorize for their members and some that they won't. Thus, if a customer calls asking for assistance in placing an order through IDEA or RAVEN, please politely direct them back to their representative. We do not take direct orders from these folks, they have to do it through their organization.
Obviously, if they are calling for counsel or assistance with *choosing* a level or needing to understand a product, that is something we can help them with. But if they are asking for assistance with actually placing an order, or not understanding what they can or cannot order, they need to go back to their representative.

How to order Sonlight through the state-sponsored IDEA program?
Since SL is a Christian program the state will only pay for the secular portions of it. To make it more convenient for those who would like to order a package through the state, and to "bless" those customers with the 10% discount, SL has put together an order form especially for ordering through IDEA. As far as I know this only applies to people enrolled in the IDEA program in Alaska and Idaho.
Each package is divided into 2 portions. There is a State column showing the portion of the package that the state will pay for, and a Family column showing the portion the family will need to pay for. (The family portion includes the IGs and any specifically-Christian materials.) The customer needs to fill out the order form, including her credit card number, and turn it in to the state agency. The state will fax the order to SL who will then bill the customer's cc for the family portion, and bill the state for the rest of it, but ship it all to the customer. The customer enjoys the 10% discount on the package, but will not be enrolled in the Sonlighter's Club.
The "alternate" packages are not available in this special pricing format. SL has just made the most common packages available this way. If the customer wants Core 1+2, 3+4, or Alt 6, they will need to order items individually, and they won't get the discount.
Also, the 4-day packages are not listed. If someone wants a 4-day package just remind them that both schedules are in the IGs, so they can order the 5-day package and follow the 4-day schedule. I wouldn't recommend giving the extra books as gifts, as we sometimes do, because officially the books belong to the state! But they could set them aside for summer reading or something.
Customers who order through the Idea program in Alaska:
Ø Idea places the order and pays for it
Ø The order is shipped directly to the customer
Ø If the customer needs to make a return, they ship it directly to Sonlight
