2008 Language Arts IG Errors

  • LA1 -
    • Week 8 - Day 3. Story Starters are referred to as being in Appendix 1. They are in Appendix 5. (11.5.08)
  • LA2 Regular -
    • Answer key for Wordly Wise A not included in the LA2 IG. Answer to the True/False questions are at the bottom of the workbook page. Answers for the rest of the work will be upload on the Curriculum Updates page. (7.10.08)
    • Introductory instructions mention Sequential Spelling. This is an error as LA2 Regular comes with its own spelling program. Under the About this Instructor's Guide header it lists Section Three as including answer keys for MCP Word Study D and Wordly Wise C. This is also incorrect, and these items are actually *not* in the appendix. (4.16.08)
  • LA2 Intermediate -
    • spelling instruction and schedules don't match. Will be corrected and posted. (5.5.08)
    • Week 1 Spelling instruction (in the notes) … Day 1 (Read the rule & write), Day 2 (Pre-test), Day 3 (Check), Day 4 (Post-test), Day 5 (optional)
    • Spelling schedule (every week) … Day 1 (Rule), Day 2 (Write), Day 3 (Pre-test), Day 4 (Check), Day 5 (Post-test)
    • Week 1 - Creative Expression notes on page 3 refer customer to extra copywork passages found in Appendix 7. This is a left-over instruction from 2007. Extra copywork passages are now included in the Notes. (7.21.08)
    • Wordly Wise B Answer Key - was inadvertently omitted from the Appendices. Available on the curriculum updates page (7.30.08)
  • LA2 Advanced - spelling instruction and schedules don't match. Will be corrected and posted. (5.5.08)

    • Week 11, Day 4 assignment ... This was an error in 2007 and was not corrected for 2008. Correction will be made for 2009. Customers looking for the correction can find it on the 2007 updates page. (2.10.09)
    • Week 21 - Day 2 ... Instructions direct student to review the lesson about outlines in Week 4. That lesson is actually in Week 3. (2.13.09)
    • Week 24 - Student Activity Sheet ... Dictation does not contain two examples of onomatopoeia. This was a publication error and has been updated for 2009. (3.9.09)
    • Week 26 - Days 1 & 2 … Activity Sheets … Day 1 assigns Activity Sheet 26 but Day 2 assigns Activity Sheet 27. Should be 26. (8.8.08)
    • Week 27 - Days 1 & 2 … Activity Sheets … Day 1 assigns Activity Sheet 27 but Day 2 assigns Activity Sheet 26. Should be 27. (8.8.08)

  • LA 3+4 -
    • Winston Grammar was inadvertently scheduled in the IG. This is not an optional workbook for LA 3+4. This will be removed for the next print run. (5.22.08)
    • Week 1 - Day 1 General Dictation Instructions, Method #2 ... refers the customer to extra copywork passages found in Appendix 3. This is an error as all optional dictation assignments are now included in the weekly Notes.
    • Week 19 - Student Activity Sheet #19 ("Follow Directions") has incorrect instructions. Updated instructions have been posted on the Curriculum Updates page. (10.21.08)
  • LA 5 - Dictation assignments do not match Reader schedule. PD working on fix, but no estimated date. (5.28.08)

    • Week 24 ... Days are mislabeled as Day 1, Day 4, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5. The second day assignment refers to the Activity Sheet 20 answer key. It should read Activity Sheet 24 answer key. Will be corrected for next print run. (6.2.08)
