Dear Sonlight,
Have you had a chance to flip through
Sonlight's new 2013 online catalog? Better yet, perhaps
you've received your own personal copy in the mail. If for some reason
you didn't receive one, I'd be happy to send it free
at your request.
Every year I look forward to sharing
the improvements we've made. We put together a brief video that describes
the highlights of "What's New at Sonlight." (Did you read the
article on p. 162?) In addition to Sarita, you'll also meet several other
Sonight personnel who provide behind-the-scenes information – the how and
why of these innovations – that you may find helpful.
You can also go directly to the new
and improved curriculum and get a taste for what it's all about:
- Core H and Core W
(ages 12-14) – We overhauled the Instructor's Guides (IG) to make it
easier for you to teach, put in some new books and fortified the
Language Arts programs.
- Cores 100–400 – Your
high schoolers will be happy about new flexibility that lets you customize
courses (i.e., "mix and match" History and Literature) to
meet their unique interests and academic goals. Just choose the upper-level Core package
that includes the History or Government course you want, and then
add a Literature course from the drop-down menu to complete your
unique Core.
If you have any questions about
choosing the best curriculum for your family, you can always contact a Sonlight
Curriculum Advisor (a real homeschool mom) for free. You can
also visit our Choosing Forum to learn what other
Sonlight homeschoolers are using for their families.
If there's anything I can do to
support your homeschool experience this year, please don't hesitate to contact
my team.
Enjoy!
