Dear Customer,
What? Is this really another email
teasing you about the coming catalog?
Yep. As promised, here are more
peeks at the very
soon-to-be-released
2011 catalog. Get ready to see:

Better Formatting for
upper-level Instructor's Guides
Check out what Sarita says in the new catalog:
"We've received helpful feedback
from parents of high schoolers saying 'I love your high school content,
but please make the Instructor's Guides easier to use.' So we did.
"The Instructor's Guides (IGs)
for Cores 100, 200, 300, 400 and 530 are now much easier to use for
parents and students. We surveyed our high school customers, talked
extensively with many, and sent samples of revisions to a test group.
Your Customer Champion, Judy, thinks you'll be ecstatic with the
changes."
What did we change? Look for full
details in your catalog. But here's the short story:
Cores 100-530 now come with separate
Student and Parent guides. The two guides are identical, except each
Parent Guide has the answers written in and provides extra notes (e.g.,
plot summaries) on the reading. This setup allows your student to do an
independent study OR for you to be as involved as you like, even without
doing the reading.
Grammar 5 and 6
You may have already heard about these Sonlight-exclusive programs. We
released them last fall, but this is their official "catalog
debut." The literature-based, self-directed programs give
straightforward instruction and coordinating exercises so students gain
mastery of grammatical concepts. Watch
this quick video to hear what one customer said. Or click to
learn more about Grammar 5 or Grammar
6.

New Scope and Sequence
Charts
Ever wish you could see a sweeping overview of your whole Sonlight
career? New charts in the catalog show clearly how our Core, Language
Arts and Science programs progress from the early years through high
school. You'll have to wait for your catalog to see them, but we did
already show them to a small test group to see if they were helpful. The
resounding answer was YES! (Plus ... I have to admit I think the colors
look cool on the page. I guess you'll need to wait to see what I mean.)
New upper-level high
school course: What Good is Christianity?
Again, I'll let Sarita speak to this one:
"Have you heard people complain
that religion only brings division and violence? While the history of the
Christian Church certainly has its low points, Christianity has had an
incredibly positive influence on many aspects of life. Sonlight's newest
high school course compellingly presents this case."
This new 18-week course is called What Good is Christianity?
It equips college-bound Juniors and Seniors with knowledge and
perspective to help their faith stay intact in college and beyond. The
author of the course is extremely well-qualified academically and clearly
has a passion for helping students understand their faith. Learn more on
p. 89 of your upcoming catalog.

MathTacular4:
Word Problems
Did you miss the hubbub when this new MathTacular project hit the
shelves last fall? (Or maybe that hubbub was just Luke and Amber
cheering from their desks because they worked so hard to complete this
ambitious project.) Check out the trailer for this
hilarious sleuthing mathematical adventure. It just might be your
children's key to cracking the code of word problems once and for all.

And ... one surprise
change!
There's one more big change on its way. It doesn't affect the content of
our curriculum, but we believe it will help you choose the program that
fits your family best.
Can you guess what I'm going to say
next? You're right: Stay
tuned.
We'll unveil this final change next
week.
Until then,
