I wrote you last week to ask if you'd like extra Sonlight catalogs...
Just a reminder: my deadline has passed, but you can still request catalogs any time.
The deadline (Wednesday 2/20/2008) was for me—to add your request to our first mailing of the new 2008 issue. But you can still get more copies, whenever you think you can use them. Simply reply to this email and let me know how many copies you want. We will take care of the rest.
And thank you for sharing your love of Sonlight with those around you!
Meanwhile, I realize it will be a few more weeks before your first 2008 Sonlight catalog arrives.
But you can "sneak a peek" inside. Right now.
Here's a link to two brand new catalog pages, pulled straight from the final version that's on its way to the printer: Sonlight Curriculum 2008 catalog, pages 6-7
Please feel free to pass this link to anyone you think will benefit from seeing Sonlight... simplified.
You'll see we've worked hard this year to "return to our roots."
These two pages are from a new section in the catalog, designed especially with "newcomers" in mind. On each page in this section—with no wondering or work—you (or someone you know) can find one complete package: everything you need to teach one child for one full year.
When Sonlight was born in 1990 the curriculum was, to be honest, much simpler (because we offered only our original "Basic" packages). Over the years, in order to serve many more families, we expanded our product offerings to make it possible for you (if you wanted or needed) to adjust any program or package to suit your children's unique strengths and talents, learning styles and areas of challenge. And all that flexibility is good, when you need it. But...
This year's Sonlight "Newcomer" packages make a great start for anyone you know who wants to try homeschool, but doesn't want to have to consider every possible option. Simply match a child's age or grade to the "usually used by" range for any Sonlight Newcomers program. That's it. Order one package, and school can begin when it arrives!
We've created this new, simpler approach to help us (and you) share Sonlight with folks who need to "get it" at a glance. But I know, of course, that you are NOT new to Sonlight!
There is so much that's new in the 2008 catalog, including dozens of new resource items. For instance, high schoolers can dive into two brand new—and exclusive—Sonlight programs: a complete year of modern Economics (macro and micro), plus a thorough "kit" for planning their transition into the world of "College and Career." Toddlers can join in the fun earlier than ever, too, with Sonlight's new "Core" program P3/4.
For the rest of your new 2008 Sonlight catalog, watch for the real thing in your mailbox. It's just a few weeks away!
Thank you again for choosing Sonlight.
Sincerely,
Tim Heil
