Dear Stan and Judy,

What if you couldn't read or even write your own name? This is the sad reality for over 300 million women and men in India. Today, Chris will take you into a Mission India literacy class that is helping India's illiterate people change their lives!

If you are just joining our journey across India, or haven't had a chance to watch the earlier episodes, you can access all the My Passport to India resources at www.mypassporttoindia.org. Simply click on the episode tab to access the videos and all the related bonus content!

Once a video and the related content are released, they will be available to you online throughout the 5-week program!

If you're looking for more ways to fill your suitcase with loose change for Children's Bible Clubs, check out this idea from Jen, a mom of four in Pennsylvania:

"I wanted to share our family's unique way to participate in the 'Passport for India' project.

Since we are currently committed to another missions oriented project we decided that at any meal if a family member drank water instead of the other beverages offered (iced tea, juice or milk) we would put a quarter in our box.

How could we not sacrifice something so small for those needing the Gospel in India?"

Thanks for the great idea, Jen! We'd love to hear what other families are doing, too! You can share your own photos and stories by emailing Mission India at sonlight@missionindia.org!

Empty your suitcase!

You don't have to wait to make a gift for Children's Bible Clubs!

You can make a secure online gift to Mission India - in the amount of the change you've saved so far - at any time during My Passport to India and as often as you'd like. Then start filling your suitcase again!

(November 17, 2010 is the deadline for your gift to be matched dollar-for-dollar by Sonlight Curriculum.)

Each $1 you give toward Mission India - matched by Sonlight Curriculum - will allow TWO kids in India to attend a Children's Bible Club.

How do Children's Bible Clubs help these boys and girls?

Mission India's Bible Clubs provide many social, educational, and spiritual benefits to children and families:

  • Introduce a loving God who created each child in His image
  • Teach children to pray confidently and expect answered prayers
  • Teach the importance of good nutrition and personal hygiene
  • Encourage parents to send their children to school
  • Teach youngsters to share their faith with friends and family
  • Inspire children to serve their communities and become future leaders

And every year, many new churches grow out of these Bible Clubs! As they come to faith in Jesus, boys and girls and their families continue to be discipled and encouraged by other Christian believers and experience the joy of fellowship in the body of Christ.

Stay tuned for Day 7 - coming Tuesday, October 26
