Dear Judy,
It's true. You could create your own
homeschool curriculum.
That's what I did starting in 1990.
You could choose a topic and make sure it fit in the Scope and Sequence
you want your kids to learn. You could hunt down lots of books and review
them all. Then decide which fit with your topic and age level. Then schedule
them all. Then weave them into a full curriculum with clear learning
objectives.
Then you could create
discussion/comprehension questions for each book, make vocabulary lists,
draw maps and make activity sheets for your Language Arts and Science
Program. Then you could actually buy all the materials you need. Scour
used book stores and spend countless hours online.
You might end up with a good program.
And you probably would have spent your summer, weekends and evenings AND
lots of money to create it.
But is it worth that? Someone else
has already done the work for you. And thousands of customers have tried
it and testify: Sonlight is worth it. Your kids will get a great
education. You'll be a great teacher. Your kids will come to love reading
and learning. You'll build closer family bonds. And you'll be able to
spend your time teaching, guiding and enjoying your kids instead of
preparing lessons.
"If I had an extra 100 hours a
week to plan the perfect family curriculum, I might get close to
Sonlight, but I wouldn't have the joy of sharing moments tailored to each
of my individual children. Sonlight frees us to experience adventures
together." -Amanda F, Aug. 2010
Try it. Love it. Or your money back.
Sonlight customers are so happy with
their purchases that we can offer the best guarantee in the business. Buy
a complete Core Package or Newcomer Package and try the first half of the
program. Read the books (and crack the spines if you want!), write all
over the Activity Pages and use it as you normally would. If you don't
love it for any reason, you have up to a year to return it for a full
refund of your purchase price. Click
here to learn more.
As one (former) homeschooling mom to
a current homeschooling mom: My heart is to spur you on in your journey.
