A big congratulations goes to Natalie
P of Keizer, OR and her family for winning the annual Sonlight
Photo Contest. You'll see Natalie's children on the cover of
Sonlight's 2011 catalog. Thanks to everyone who went online and voted.
Natalie says she planned to stage some shots, but when she returned to
the back yard after grabbing her camera, the girls were already laughing
and enjoying the books without any prompting. "And so it goes with
Sonlight books and materials!" Natalie says.
"Sonlight provides such excellent tools to set the
stage for relaxed, natural learning that it in turn
allows me to relax and enjoy the experience along with my girls,"
she wrote. "I love reading to them and guiding them along as they
begin their journey of education. Teaching my children has humbled me,
shown me areas of my heart that need work, and taught me the value of
slowing down and enjoying the journey instead of keeping my eyes only on
the end result. I am thankful to Sonlight for providing the resources for
me to have meaningful time with my girls."
Lauren (5) and little sister Amelia
(3) love sharing books together. They're studying Core P4/5 with Readers
K in their first year of Sonlight. Natalie will receive a $500 gift
certificate from Sonlight as an award for the winning photo.
I'd also like to congratulate Stephanie S of Woodstock, GA and Taryn H of
Cape Town, South Africa. The photo of Stephanie and her three children
won 2nd place, and Taryn's photo of her husband and their daughters won
3rd place. Stephanie and Taryn will both receive Sonlight gift
certificates as well.

Thank you to these three families and everyone who submitted photos that
tell the story of their Sonlight experience. John and I loved looking
through your wonderful snapshots.
